Tiraspol, March 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the Pridnestrovie's president Vadim Krasnoselsky has received a delegation of Sweden headed by the ambassador Signe Burgstaller. As Presidnestial Press Office reports, Pridnestrovie and Sweden are bound by old bilateral relations. The predecessor of the current ambassador of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova used to visit the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic repeatedly. Constructive dialogue has been established. Several projects supported by Sweden are implemented in Pridnestrovie. First of all, they concern culture and education. For example, cooperation is established at the level of higher educational institutions.

«One of the current projects concerns implementation of the recommendations made by Mr. Thomas Hammarberg (United Nations Senior Expert on Human rights in Pridnestrovie) in the report prepared in 2013. I would like to inform on these projects and also to discuss our cultural ties. We are united by a common history. 300 years ago, there was a Swedish king Karl XII who, as it happens, set a camp in Bendery. We know that there is a scholar project devoted to the presence of the Swedish king here. In May our delegation will be in Pridnestrovie," the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in RM Signe Burgstaller informed the President of the PMR.

In turn, the head of state told that Pridnestrovie has its own vision of further cooperation and some offers on its implementation.

It was also talked about the Moldo-Pridnestrovian relationship during the meeting. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Pridnsestrovie is consistent in its position and continues adhering to the constructive dialogue principle.

«We consistently support continuation of the dialogue. On January 4, there was a meeting between the presidents of Pridnestrovie and Moldova where the commitment to the principles of peaceful solution of all issues was confirmed. We want to live in peace with our neighbors: Moldova, Ukraine and other states. Today, we have an array of problems requiring solutions," the Pridnestrovie's president reminded. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized an importance of practical implementation of the existing and the future agreements and the decisions made within the 5+2 format.
