Boiltrushko: in 2015 many private enterprises cut wages to their employees

According to the minister of economic development, nobody has ever returned this money, as opposed to temporary underfunded public sector wages and pensions

Tiraspol, 30 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In 2015 many private enterprises cut wages to their employees, said the minister of economic development, Dmitry Boltrushko, during today's news conference. According to the minister, Supreme Council members excoriated the government's decision about the temporary underfunding of public sector wages and pensions and, proceeding from this and a number of other arguments, gave a negative assessment of the government's work in 2015.

However, according to Dmitry Boltrushko, this money was finally repaid, as opposed to the wages cut by private enterprises to their workers. «There are figures speaking for themselves. For example, the famed sports complex cut the average nominal salary by 50%. No debts have been repaid. One of Pridnestrovie's biggest enterprise, tax payer and importer cut the nominal salary by 15%, and so did many other businesses," said the minister.

Also, according to Boltrushko, many big enterprises, including Tirotex, Litmash, Moldavizolit, Kvint, Farba-Grupp, dismissed from 10 to 60% of their personnel, excluding part-time and freelance workers.

All these factors resulted in reduced payroll budget, of which the Supreme Council also accused the government and mentioned when giving the negative assessment of its work.

The minister recalled, however, that the government had requested the Supreme Council to pass the amendments allowing, in case of mass layouts, for the introduction of public external control at the enterprise to assess the owner's efficiency and decide which assistance to provide to this economic entity. This bill, however, had not met MPs' approval.

«The government took all measures possible and even tried to extend its power to influence this situation. We were not allowed to do it, and now complaints are being made against us," said the minister of economic development.

The first deputy prime minister, Alevtina Slinchenko, also present at the news conference, voiced the information that despite all economic difficulties, the actual amount of salaries in Pridnestrovie had not decreased so much as in its partner countries. In the PMR this rate had dropped by 3.4% against 21% in Ukraine and 9.5% in Russia.
