Pridnestrovie's President holds a meeting with a head of EU delegation in RM

Yevgeny Shevchuk and Pirkka Tapiola exchanged opinions on some topical issues of bilateral cooperation and negotiation process between RM and PMR within a dialogue

Tiraspol, 29 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk received the head of the EU delegation in RM Pirkka Tapiola. Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev also took part in the meeting, the Presidential Press Office reports. Within a dialogue, the sides exchanged opinions on some topical issues of bilateral cooperation. The parties specially focused on the issues concerning the negotiation process.

The Pridnestrovie's President noted that negotiations between Tiraspol and Chisinau stagnate these days. «Unfortunately, negotiations are almost stopped, and because of it among other things the whole group of issues of the agenda isn't resolved. Procrastination in solution of certain problems aggravates the questions concerning the economic interaction," Yevgeny Shevchuk told.

At the meeting it was also talked about the issues concerning the opening of politically motivated criminal cases against the Pridnestrovie's citizens by Moldova and also the unilateral agreement between Moldova and Ukraine on establishment of joint customs border control at the Pridnestrovian border.

The President of the PMR assured that Pridnestrovie was disposed to constructive cooperation with all participants of the negotiation format and was aimed at mutually advantageous solutions of the existing problems between Tiraspol and Chisinau.

In turn, the head of the EU delegation in the RM Pirkka Tapiola noted that affirmative approach to the solution of the existing problems in the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova was a priority for the European Union.

During the meeting, importance of the reached agreement on preservation for Pridnestrovie of an optimal export mode to the European Union was also noted.
