Tiraspol's Elektromash is an enterprise specialising, first of all, in the production of electric motors. When the plant was being built, it was supposed to supply the equipment for power industry enterprises across the Soviet Union and abroad. However, when the USSR had collapsed, the traditional production ties were disrupted, which adversely affected the functioning of the plant. Today, the plant's management takes every effort to restore the disrupted ties, regain its old and explore new markets.
One of the latest orders the plant has received is the manufacturing of six electric motors for Kazakhstan's oil transport enterprise, KazTransOil CJSC.
«We are shipping six motors for booster pumps: four horizontal and two vertical motors. Booster pumps are used at trunk oil transferring stations," the Elektromash technical director, Felix Yasinskiy, said to our reporter. The motors made by the plant will be installed at one of oil pumping stations. The first batch of motors has already been prepared and soon will be shipped to Kazakhstan.
In fact, this is a trial order, and, if the Kazakhstan partners like the quality of Pridnestrovie's production, the enterprises may continue cooperation. Elektromash hopes to receive an order for manufacturing motors for the construction of a new Kazakhstan-Chinese pipeline. According to Felix Yasinskiy, the plant has good chances to receive the new contract because Russia's Transneft participates in the construction, and this company has known and been using Electromash's products for a long time. «After the first shipment, we hope to develop our cooperation both qualitatively and quantitatively. Moreover, we have already had an agreement with Transneft to produce engines for both a Russian pipeline and pipelines going abroad," said the technical director.
