State Quintet "Liberty" to take part in International Jazz Festival in Minsk

The JAZZinMINSK festival takes place for the third year running

On 16 November the State Quintet "Liberty" leaves for Minsk to participate in the III International Jazz Festival "JAZZinMINSK-2014." The festival will take place within three days - 18 - 20 November - on Minsk's best stages.

Over 50 musicians from the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Pridnestrovie and Belarus are expected to take part in the festival. Our republic will be represented by the State Quintet "Liberty".

According to the quintet art director, Dmitriy Sheremet, this festival, which takes place in Minsk for the third year running, focuses on jazz bands of various line-ups and trends.

"The organisers have invited us to perform, besides our core repertoire (dixieland, blues), our recent Ukrainian, Russian and Moldavian folk music arrangements. We are going to perform them to show Pridnestrovie's colouring," said Dmitriy Sheremet in an interview with our journalist.

Now the band is actively rehearsing. The musicians are going to participate under the colours of Pridnestrovie and are getting ready to represent the republic with dignity.

"It is both important and actual for us. We are planning to give our programme a dry run until Sunday, to be on the artistic rise and in high spirits for representing our republic with dignity at this important international jazz festival," underscored Dmitriy Sheremet.
