Tiraspol, 26 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In Moscow, the Pridnestrovie's President Vadim Krasnoselsky told about the historic choice of Pridnestrovians in 2006.
«In Pridnestrovie in 2006, the people voted for independence of Pridnestrovie and its subsequent merge with Russia. We don't see any necessity to hold repeated referenda on this matter. Our people made their choice," Krasnoselsky told in an interview to the Parliamentary Newspaper of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The idea of the Pridnestrovian settlement through a referendum had been voiced by the president of Moldova Igor Dodon the day before. He declared at the press conference that the Pridnestrovian issue would be resolved at the national referendum.
The statement of the Moldavan president was commented by the leader of Pridnestrovie in Moscow today.
«Moldova being a sovereign state can hold as many referenda as it wants, it is their internal affair," Krasnoselsky told to the Parliamentary Newspaper. «Such referendum has already been held in Pridnestrovie».
