Tiraspol, 16 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The decoration ceremony took place in the office of the Presidential Administration as part of International Family Day celebrations.
Mother of a large family Svetlana Gegenya, a resident of Tiraspol, has given birth and is bringing up 10 children: nine girls and a boy. She was awarded a Hero Mother order in the presence of all members of her big family, the president's press office reports. This state decoration and honourable title symbolise respect to a mother of a large family and to her every day work, a tribute to her high social mission.
The president thanked Svetlana Gegenya for the deed of maternity, decent upbringing of children, full and harmonious development of their personalities and strengthening the institute of family. Yevgeny Shevchuk wished Svetlana and her husband, Sergey, sound health, kindness and happiness.
According to the presidential decree, the year of 2016 is declared the Year of Family Values in the PMR.
