Pridnestrovie's national football team may take part in the World Cup of unrecognized republics

In particular, the meeting between the chief of the Sport State Service Ivan Timotin and representatives of the ConIFA in Abkhazia concerned this topic

The head of the Pridnestrovie's Sport State Service had a working visit to the Republic of Abkhazia. During the visit to Sukhumi he looked into sports infrastructure, had a meeting with Abkhazian leadership including the president of the republic, and also discussed with ConIFA representatives possible participation of the Pridnestrovie's national football team in the World Cup of unrecognized republics, the department's press service reports.

It's important to remind that ConIFA (Confederation of Independent Football Associations) is a football organization established in 2013 and uniting national football teams of the countries (mostly unrecognized states, autonomies inside the states) which weren't included in FIFA. The following ConIFA World Cup will take place in Abkhazia. It is planned that the Pridnestrovie's team would participate in this championship. In total, it is expected that 16 teams from around the world would take part in the championship.

«All of us and those who will actually deal with organizational issues want this event to be held at the highest level," — the president of Abkhazia Raul Jadzhimba emphasized. Also, the Head of state noted that he would be very glad to see the national team of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on football fields of his country.

During the visit, Ivan Timotin also met with the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Shamil Adzynba who is also a chairman of the World Cup Organizing Committee.
