The Foreign Ministry's Press Service reports that the head of the foreign policy department Nina Shtanski called the statement of the Сharge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine in Moldova Gennady Altukhov concerning alleged non-conformance of the Dniester peacekeeping operation to the conflict settlement purposes as provocative attacks.
«How can we take such statements seriously when the representative of a country, ten military observers of which are taking part in the multilateral peacekeeping operation on Dniester, where under the auspices of the Russian Federation not just only joint participation of the conflict sides' contingents (and more than that, there was an armed conflict between them not that long ago), but also enviable efficiency are provided? By the way, it is enviable for all world peacemaking experience," the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister writes.
Remarkable Nina Shtanski told that it was remarkable that such statements were voiced at the event in Kishinev devoted to the national holiday of Ukraine. «Can it be possible that the agenda of the bilateral Ukraine-Moldova relations is so poor so that they had to attract the press with such provocative attacks?» the diplomat asks.
«We'd like really to understand what aim does the Ukrainian diplomacy pursue exactly in this conflict settlement today, due to the alleged fact that the peacekeeping operation, being the only peace guarantee for all years of the conflict and providing the conditions prevent bloodshed of any civilians in the Security Zone and in the zone of a frozen conflict on Dniester till this day, suddenly became inefficient," Nina Shtanski continues.
The minister also mentioned the experience of 1992 when Ukraine, Russia, Romania and Moldova excluding Pridnestrovie had organised an international observation mission when these military observers except for the Russian ones had been the first to escape from the territory of the conflict as soon as the first fire was opened in the city of Bendery in June, 1992.
