Meeting of Vadim Krasnoselsky and Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa took place at the presidential executive office. The working conversation was preceded by an exchange of Easter greetings. The churchman presented the head of the country with a hand-painted Easter egg, which depicts a copy of the icon of the Resurrection of Christ, located in the Tiraspol Church of the Exaltation of the Cross.
The interlocutors mentioned the fact that the Resurrection of the Lord is celebrated simultaneously by the entire Christian world this year. Archbishop Sawa told how Bright Week is going. He held the Easter service on the night of April 20 in the capital's Church of the Exaltation of the Cross. A live television broadcast was conducted for the flock, who celebrated the bright holiday at home. The Easter vesper service were celebrated by the Archbishop in the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Tiraspol. He also celebrated the liturgy there on the second day of Easter. On Tuesday, the Archbishop held a service in the Transfiguration Cathedral in Bendery, and today in the All Saints Cathedral in Dubossary. The Archbishop said that after the Divine Liturgy, he visited the Bouquet of Moldova vineyards and consecrated a chapel built there in honor of the holy martyr Tryphon, the patron saint of farmers and winegrowers. Afterwards, the Archbishop visited Grigoriopol, where he bowed to the icon of the Mother of God of the Three Hands installed in the chapel. The Archbishop also mentioned the services held during Easter in various social institutions. For example, the priest of the Republican cadet corps held a festive service for the pupils and employees of the Makarenko Republican Educational and Training Complex today. Festive liturgies are also held in penitentiary institutions. It is traditional to hold a so-called parental day in places of imprisonment during Easter, when those serving sentences have the opportunity to meet with their loved ones and participate together in services held in house churches at penitentiary institutions. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the special significance of such events and thanked the Archbishop and all the clergy for their work in the name of preserving Orthodox and universal values.
The meeting participants discussed upcoming events. They discussed among other things the preparations for holding May 6 memorial service at the capital's Glory Memorial near the chapel of St. George the Victorious for those who died during the war. This is a significant and large-scale event. A large number of participants are expected.
