The Supreme Council commented on the decision to extend the state of emergency economic situation in the republic until March 10

The reason is that there are no guarantees for long-term gas supplies

Tiraspol, February 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/.  The volume of natural gas received by Pridnestrovie is enough to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe, but not enough to fully resume the work of the real sector of the economy. This was emphasized by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR, Alexander Korshunov, commenting on the decision to extend the state of emergency economic situation in the republic until March 10.

"The solution found on February 1 is temporary," Alexander Korshunov noted. - Today, government bodies and officials of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, including the President of the PMR, the Chairman of the Government, and deputies of the Supreme Council, are working on the issue of energy supplies in the longer term, which will have a stable impact on both the economy and the state of the budget of our republic. It is very important to translate the temporary solution into a long-term perspective."

The Republic is going through a difficult period, and unity and consolidation of efforts of all branches of government are needed to overcome the difficulties that have arisen, noted, in turn, the Chairman of the Supreme Council Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, Viktor Guzun.

"We expect that during this period, the formula, the model of supply, payment, transportation of gas directly to the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will be developed, and only after that will we be able to return to a stable, understandable, normal regime and way of life for all of us," Viktor Guzun emphasized.

Let us recall that from January 1, gas supplies to the territory of the PMR were interrupted due to the termination of Russian gas transit through the territory of Ukraine and the unsettled financial relations between PJSC Gazprom and JSC Moldovagaz. From February 1, gas supplies to the PMR resumed due to a ten-day European grant, but the incoming volumes are only sufficient to provide heat, gas and electricity to the population and social facilities. The question of resuming normal operations of enterprises remains open.
