A festive event dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year was held at the university fountain site. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, the founder of the state university arrived to congratulate the university staff. The President said that a full-fledged comprehensive educational system has been created in Pridnestrovie, and the university, in addition to fulfilling the scientific and educational function, plays an important role in strengthening the Pridnestrovian statehood. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the high quality of education provided by the Pridnestrovian State University, and spoke about his student years within the walls of this university. The PMR President noted that in the past, the university infrastructure did not correspond to the level of the staff of the Pridnestrovian State University, which is represented by worthy teachers and talented students. The situation has changed dramatically at present. A global renovation of the university fund has been underway since 2020 at the initiative of Vadim Krasnoselsky. Individual infrastructure elements are included in the state capital investment program every year. Gagarin Boulevard adjacent to the university buildings was improved and the area now called the fountain area was put in order in 2021. The main building was renovated and re-equipped a year later, a classroom for the medical faculty equipped with an interactive complex was opened, and the student church of St. Tatiana was transformed beyond recognition. Located in the renovated and re-equipped "B" building "Quantum" multifunctional IT center was commissioned in 2023. The zoological and geological-mineralogical museums of Pridnestrovian State University are also located in this building, which opened their doors to visitors in April of this year. Today's opening of the large-scale reconstruction of building No. 3 ("B") of Pridnestrovian State University named after Shevchenko, built in the early 60s of the last century and which had not seen major repairs until now, was timed to coincide with the Day of Knowledge. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the work being carried out and assured that it would be continued.
A tour of the transformed academic building was organized for the guests after the official part of the ceremonial event. Students in addition to bright and comfortable classrooms will have equipped laboratories, a reading and sports halls, an archeology museum, the area of which can be used not only for the exhibitions of the rich museum collection, but also for holding various events. A collection storage facility has been thought out. Vadim Krasnoselsky was told that the museum project is the work of Pridnestrovian State University students.
The delegation headed by the PMR President visited the student campus today. It has been completely renovated and improved. Recreation areas, sports grounds and active leisure areas have been equipped, and a parking zone has been allocated. The President not only congratulated everyone on the holidays, but also discussed the plan for further reconstruction of the university infrastructure.
