The first President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic celebrated his 82nd birthday today. Igor Smirnov was congratulated by the PMR President. Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived at the office of the founder of the republic, where he personally presented the Order of Potemkin-Tavrichesky to the birthday person. “For personal contribution to the formation and development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, for merits in ensuring the security of the state...” says the relevant decree. Igor Smirnov is the first Pridnestrovian to receive this award. The order was previously awarded to the city of Bendery on the occasion of its anniversary.
Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated Igor Smirnov on behalf of the entire Pridnestrovian people emphasizing that the services of the First President of the PMR to the country cannot be overestimated.
Igor Smirnov expressed gratitude for the congratulations and the award, emphasizing that the most important thing is saving people. The First President of the PMR said that pupils of Suvorov Military College were among those whose congratulations he accepted today.
