The President held a scheduled meeting of the Operational Headquarters for Prevention of the Spread of Coronavirus

According to the information announced in the course of the meeting of the Operations Headquarters under the PMR President for Prevention of the Spread of Coronavirus, the current situation is as follows: 130 infected Pridnestrovians and 66 patients suspected of having coronavirus are in the republic’s COVID hospitals. One PMR citizen is undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in Moldavian clinic. 1275 cases of the disease have been registered for the entire pandemic in Pridnestrovie. 50 carriers of the infection died (mortality rate 3.9%). 1067 people successfully cope with the disease (84% of cases). 15685 samples of biomaterials were laboratory tested. Rapid testing is actively tested. Members of the Operational Headquarters consider controlled self-isolation an important preventive tool. To date, 1945 Pridnestrovians are under home quarantine. Advisability of maintaining the requirement of observing the two-week quarantine by citizens who returned from foreign tourist trips was discussed by the Operational Headquarters during the meeting. The chief sanitary doctor of the republic insists on this norm. The proposed innovation is the mandatory laboratory testing of such individuals 8-10 days after returning to their homeland. Considering that the reason for going abroad is not forced or vital, testing of representatives of this category of citizens will be carried out on a paid basis. Medical supervision and monitoring of compliance with self-isolation regime will continue for 14 days. Doctors consider this period the incubation period of the coronavirus.
