Presidential Address, "Political Self-Sufficiency," Tasks for the State Service for Documentation and Archives Management of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (transcript)
30 Jan., 2026, 14:17To the State Service for Documentation and Archives Management. Introduction. I would like to thank the leadership of the State Service for Documentation and Archives Management for creating a modern, robust, and technologically advanced archive in Pridnestrovie (the Central Archive). We've been working on this for a long time, investing funds from the Capital Investment Fund. We're already implementing it. Dear friends, we simply cannot do without archives. Think about it: an archive is a document. It's a human passport, just as an archive is a state passport. Yes, museums are wonderful, a kind of archive, containing accumulated artifacts, so to speak, that are preserved. But this is something entirely different. There truly is no future for the state without an archive. This is something we should have always been working on. We have achieved it in Pridnestrovie.
Tasks for this year. Continue monitoring the acquisition of documents from the sectoral activities of the highest and central authorities of Pridnestrovie for the Archive Fund of Pridnestrovie.
Complete the acquisition of documents from the highest and central authorities of Pridnestrovie for the new archival space of the Central State Archive of the PMR up to and including 2011.
Begin implementing the "Archival Film" project in order to preserve historical memory and prevent the falsification of history. I've been to the archives and watched these reels – you know, like they used to show in movie theaters – of documentaries about life in Pridnestrovie in various periods. The Soviet period, and, of course, the Pridnestrovian period. All of this needs to be digitalized and preserved. This is a very important piece of video documentation.
There is one more thing. As part of events to perpetuate the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, monitor the safety of documentation on burials on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in order to form the "Memorial of Pridnestrovie" database.
