Tiraspol, August 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During the meeting with the leaders of the republic`s mainstream media, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the challenges that Pridnestrovie had to face this year.
“The first challenge is military operations on the territory of Ukraine. That is a fact. As a result of hostilities, our usual economic ties with Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and other states have been disrupted. All this has become a burden on our economy, on our budget, and logistics have also been disrupted. It is very difficult for business, both small and large,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
Unresolved issues with Moldova are also among the main problems, according to the President. In particular, in the banking and financial sector.
The coronavirus pandemic is another challenge that the Pridnestrovian healthcare system is coping with, the head of state stressed.
“The pandemic is not as tough as the second or third wave, but it still exists. People get sick. Today, there are 250 people in hospitals, and about 1,300 are being treated at home. Now there are fewer deaths, but they do happen, there are severe cases, there are cases with inflammation of the lung tissue, and there are cases when oxygen therapy is needed. We were preparing for this. We have experience,” Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
The President also recalled the terrorist attacks that took place in Pridnestrovie in the spring and summer of this year.
“Those terrorist attacks that took place on our territory did not contribute to the sense of optimism. General nervousness in the world and the most difficult geopolitical situation left their imprint on Pridnestrovie. We live under these conditions, we keep peace in our land. The most important thing is peace in our land. And we do achieve our result actually: there is no war, there is no aggression,” Vadim Krasnoselsky summed up.
