Denis Shvets from Tiraspol will compete in the European arena

The Tiraspol Swimming Sports School trainee qualified for the Cup of Poland

Tiraspol, April 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Swimmer from Tiraspol Denis Shvets got the right to compete at the World Championships and the European Youth Swimming Championships. The selection took place at the Cup of Poland under the auspices of the International Swimming Federation. 

Denis Shvets tied his record in the 200m breaststroke. The master of sports took second place in the senior category and became the best among the youth. His result is 2.17.92. A trainee of the Swimming Sports School covered the distance of a hundred meters in 1.03.98. It allowed him to win another gold in the youth category and become the fifth among adults.

“Denis did not show this result at the Moldavian Championship, which took place earlier. But he went to Poland and showed a good result there. We continue the qualification until May 1,” Elena Zaitseva, Director of the Swimming Sports School said.

“Shvets was qualified for youth Europe. He was also qualified for the adult world, yet he will not go there to the coach, athlete, and the relevant federation joint decision. The task was assigned to place high in the European Championship. While the world championship will interfere with the preparation,” the Head of the Moldavian Swimming Federation Alexander Goryachev explained.

Evgeny Karabetsky is coach of Denis Shvets. The swimmer from Tiraspol will spend a training camp in Romania, which starts on April 20.

The European Youth Championship will begin on July 10 in Bucharest.
