Pridnestrovian exports grew by 48% in first eight months of this year, while imports grew by 33%

The volume of Pridnestrovian foreign trade with the EAEU countries is 29% and 30% with the EU countries

Tiraspol, September 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The foreign trade turnover of Pridnestrovie in the first eight months of this year increased by a total of 39% compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, the export of goods increased by 48%, and imports - by 33%, according to the press service of the State Customs Committee of the PMR.

The volume of supplies of ferrous metallurgy products more than doubled in January-August. Exports of textiles increased by 41%, electricity increased by 8%, foodstuffs - by 10%.

As for imports, here, accordingly, more raw materials were imported for the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant, Tirotex CJSC and Moldavizolit CJSC.

The volume of Pridnestrovian foreign trade with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Community is today 29%, with the countries of the European Union - 30%. Russia remains the main trade partner of the PMR. The volume of trade with the Russian Federation amounted to 26.5% of the total trade of Pridnestrovie. At the same time, trade turnover increased by 17%, or by $ 17.9 million, while imports - by 12%, or by $ 6.9 million (mainly due to an increase in imports of food products).

A positive trend is also observed in the export of Pridnestrovian goods to the Russian market. In comparison with similar indicators of last year, PMR enterprises supplied goods to Russia by 25%, or $ 10.9 million more (mainly due to the growth of exports of metallurgical and machine-building products, food products and raw materials). In general, the volume of supplies to the Russian Federation amounted to 9% of the total export of Pridnestrovie.
