Prime Minister: No increase in tax burden and tariffs

The Prime Minister noted that infrastructure projects would continue

Tiraspol, January 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On the air of the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel, the Prime Minister of the PMR Alexander Martynov assured that the losses in 2020 would not lead to an increase in the tax burden and tariffs. He noted that it was possible to finance budget spending without money creation.

“We finished last year without money creation. Not a single ruble was printed to finance the budget deficit. Therefore, in fact, we got through it from the financial point of view,” the Prime Minister said.

At the same time, he stressed that a lot of funds were spent to combat coronavirus last year, which is why it was not possible to fully complete all the planned work on the Capital Investment Fund and the Road Fund. According to Alexander Martynov, unrealized reconstruction of social infrastructure facilities, as well as unfinished roads was the cost of financing the fight against the pandemic.

“Last year we planned to raise the salaries of medical personnel by about 20-30% for everyone. This did not happen either. The money went to fund the Covid premiums. The housing program for public sector employees was not launched last year either,” the Prime Minister said.

Speaking about the objects that were not completed this year, the Prime Minister noted that their construction and repairs would continue in 2021 and in coming years. Alexander Martynov believes this is the right thing to do.
