Pridnestrovians continue to be considered as aliens in Moldova

Combatants protested against the participation of Pridnestrovian residents, who have Moldovan citizenship in the presidential elections in the neighboring country

Tiraspol, October 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Participants of war against Pridnestrovie took part in a protest march yesterday. They demanded, that Pridnestrovian residents, who have Moldovan citizenship, didn’t come to the presidential elections in RM. According to the Moldovan media, they started marching from the town Causeni through several human settlements of the Stefan Voda region, where polling stations will be open on Sunday. Сombatants promised to close the driveway for Pridnestrovians and not allow them to vote.

“We don’t want the left bank of the Dniester to determine our new destiny for the next four years ...,” one of protesters said.

It should be recalled, that this summer, participants of the war against Pridnestrovie protested in Chisinau against quarantine posts, located at the borders with Pridnestrovie, during the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, combatants promised to throw decapitated corpses of Pridnestrovians to the steps of the RM’s parliament.

This week the Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov reported on provocations and on insecurity of Pridnestrovians, posed by Moldovan radical elements.

“We see, that at the posts of the Peacekeeping Forces, at the posts of the Pridnestrovian law enforcement agencies, some people are scattering leaflets with calls not to let the citizens of the PMR, who have Moldovan passports, to the elections in the RM. They threaten to blockade, threaten to block bridges. Under the circumstances, if there is any escalation, the peacekeeping forces will have to respond to it,” Oleg Belyakov said.
