September brought business downturns

Production declined by 6.4% compared to August

Tiraspol, October, 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In September, the volume of industrial production in the republic declined by 6.4% compared to August. In total, there were produced goods worth 1 billion 38 million rubles.

Business downturns were also evidenced by the dynamics of the economic situation indices calculated by the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank on the basis of data obtained from surveys of large industrial enterprises.

Thus, Industrial Confidence Indicator fell to -11.5% (-6.8% a month earlier) in September. This is largely due to the return of restrictive measures that many countries have returned because of increase in the incidence of coronavirus. The manufacturing sector PMI also dropped below the neutral mark of 50% and reached 42.9% after a three-month stabilization in the positive range.

In January-September this year, the production volume amounted to 8 billion 835.2 million rubles, which is 1.1% more than the level of the same period last year.
