Tiraspol, December 28./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The 2019 was named in Pridnestrovie the Year of Ecology and Improvement. During this time, hundreds of events were held under the slogan “Save nature for life”.

Much attention was paid to the greening of Republic settlements. President of the PMR, Vadim Krasnoselsky called for the return of the flowering species to towns and villages.
As a result, in 2019, 10,000 seedlings of various trees and shrubs were planted in the republic. By the way, this year, Dubossary was called the greenest and cleanest city.
In order to preserve and multiply forest areas, more than 120 hectares of forest were planted.
An equally important task of forestry is to restore full oak plantations. The long-term program of the re-creation of high-barrel doubles in the PMR, calculated for 2020-2038, provides about 350 hectares.
About 2.5 thousand people took part in the all-republican ecological event Clean Shore 2019, held in the republic from April 10 to June 10. They have collected 326 cubes for disposal and 7.6 tons of garbage. Volunteers cleaned the water protection zones of the Dniester, lakes and streams.
More than 10 thousand cubic meters of garbage was removed from unauthorized landfills, which were eliminated by state administrations. Now, these places are greening.
In 2019, the collection of batteries became centralized. The Civil Service has drafted a regulation approved by the Government Resolution. Now the whole society is involved in this process.
With the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 4 tons of batteries collected by Eco-PMR volunteers were sent to the processing plant of Moldova. In addition, more than 2,400 ionizing radiation sources were removed from the territory of the PMR.
Another important issue resolved this year is the disposal of pesticides and herbicides stored in the Grigoriopol district. Thanks to the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the assistance of the OSCE mission, a foreign investor was found to solve this problem. In autumn, a contract was signed between the State Service of Eco-Control and the Polish Company for the export of 185 tons of obsolete pesticides and toxic chemicals.
One of the most important events was the creation of a new landfill for the storage of solid household waste in Kamenka and near Chobruchi.
Improvement of cities and villages
Much attention this year was paid to the improvement of cities and villages. In all settlements of the republic new parks, park zones appeared, modern children's and sports grounds were opened. The areas upon entry to the towns are decorated. One of the huge projects is Colonnade on the entry in Tiraspol.
The plans on beatification of towns and other regions were created by heads of the states administrations. The work has been started in 2019. The building of fountain and part of
Promenade are holding in Rybnitsa. The Wittgenstein Park are improved in Kamenka. The arch complex and fountain appeared in Slobodzeya.
The great modernizations are also held in the capital. In the center of Tiraspol, Catherine II’s park are building, new trees and another plants were planted.
Fountain complex, which was opened on the Republic day, is the part of Catherine II’s park. The fountain is singing and there is illumination. The dividing line on Suvorov square was paved with paving slabs.
