With the Russian help, there were 124 copies of textbooks delivered to correctional schools, a university, and blind communities

Tiraspol, December 18. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian branch of the Two-headed Eagle Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education together with the Dniester-Prut Information and Analytical Center (DPIAC) organized a New Year charity event presenting books printed in Braille to Pridnestrovie.

The event was supported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Moldova. Activists of the Zvezda youth movement also took part in it.

Pupils of the Bendery special (correctional) comprehensive boarding school of III, IV and VII types were in dire need of textbooks for the blind pupils. This school year, for the first time there has been opened a department for the totally blind, and now children from all over the republic will be able to get a full education. And for this they need textbooks printed in Braille.

“For children with severe visual impairments, specialized schools that use Braille books are considered to be the best, most reliable, most voluminous, and complete source of knowledge. It is very difficult to get a comprehensive education at home,” Viktor Nikita, Chairman of the Community of Blind of Pridnestrovie said.

The main emphasis is on the ABCs - the most necessary textbook for primary schools. Schools also received textbooks in mathematics for grades 1-2 and in geometry for grades 10.

Igor Beloborodov, executive director of the Institute for Political Studies and Political Studies, head of the Pridnestrovian branch of the Two-Headed Eagle Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education, presented books to the heads of correctional schools.

“We in Russia try to hear and solve all the needs and requirements that Pridnestrovians have whenever possible. System interaction will continue. We will try to increase both the volumes and the range of possible assistance,” he said.

The Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Moldova, Alexandra Abramova, announced that cooperation with the Moscow Correctional Institute of Pedagogy has been established. The university can also help with the supply of books, and not only for children with visual impairments.

“We will support children with various impairments: vision, hearing and other developmental features. In addition, we provide comprehensive humanitarian assistance. We provide medical equipment and material assistance to veterans and disabled people, including low-income citizens. We are open to cooperation. Contact us, write us, we will consider all the proposals,” Alexandra Abramova said.

Textbooks will also go to the capital correctional school - kindergarten No. 44, the territorial branches of the Community of the Blind. In addition, the faculty of pedagogy of the Pridnestrovian State University T.G. Shevchenko, where this academic year there has been opened a new specialty “Primary Education and Special Correctional Pedagogy”, will also receive educational literature.
