Bendery, October 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Driving quickstep and slow waltz, active samba and energetic jive. These and other presentations were successfully presented by the dancers of the Bendery Center Feerie on October 26 and 27 at the International Ballroom Dance Festival WDC AL Sofia OPEN Ballroom & Latin Championships, which was held in Bulgaria.
Pridnestrovie was represented by four pairs at this competition. Three of them became winners and medalists of a prestigious competition. The skills of the athletes were evaluated by a panel of judges from Slovenia, Italy, England, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Israel, Greece and Bulgaria.
As the head of the Feerie Vitaly Koval said, the result was a pleasant surprise for the entire delegation.
“The guys were well trained, but it was too presumptuous to suggest that we will become the best in almost all programs. In addition, the opponents got strong. But having braced ourselves up, we showed what we really are capable of,” the head notes.
So, in "Youth under 18" nomination, the dancers Andrey Bidyuk and Kira Krivoruchenko won the gold medal of the festival. Also the highest award of the competition in two programs - European and Latin American dances - was awarded to a couple of Yuri Dramaretsky and Elmira Rybkovskaya.
The bronze of the competition went to Mikhail Ababiy and Anna Kutsenko, who performed in “Youth Under 21” direction.
Note that in the struggle for leadership on the dance floor, Pridnestrovian pairs competed with guys from Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, England, Hungary and Ukraine, as well as representatives of other countries. In total, there were 15 countries of the world represented at the competition.
