Tiraspol, June 3. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. 50 representatives of the Italian enterprises. Perhaps, it is the most numerous business mission ever visited Pridnestrovie. Today potential investors were in Tiraspol. They were acquainted with economic opportunities of our republic and told why it was favorable to invest in Pridnestrovie.
Foreign guests were greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister – the Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik. He emphasized that traditionally at the PMR a large number of commercial relations with the Italian businessmen in industrial and agrarian sectors had been established. He stated: “Pridnestrovie has what to offer those who deliberate over the business in the republic”.
«Pridnestrovie is the country with unusual potential. In our opinion the investment legislation, which we have, gives absolutely unprecedented conditions. Besides, those who make a business in the republic have direct contact with the Government. It allows to resolve all questions quickly and effectively», – Sergey Obolonik said.
It is favourable to invest in Pridnestrovie
Speaking about advantages of Pridnestrovie, the Minister of Economic Development noted that our republic thanked to the geographical location acted as some bridge between the western and eastern market and traditionally exported the products both to EU countries and the CIS.
The head of the Investment Agency Andrey Betanov continued to tell Italians about the potential of the Pridnestrovian market.
For example, for those who want to be engaged in the agricultural industry, it will be an important factor that in the PMR nearly 95% of lands are fertile black soils, also there are 300 sunny days in a year and the Dniester River for irrigation.
The tariff policy, liberal in relation to the foreign capital, will be favourable for those who want to open new industrial complexes in Pridnestrovie. For example, the price of electricity for the industrial sector is lower, than at neighbours, so these are an incentive to place power-consuming industries.
Besides, the support of the new modern directions is provided. Since 2018 there is the law allowing to work with block chain technologies, including mining activity. The result is available: in the republic, this niche has already been occupied by 10 foreign economic agents.
Green light to investors
As Andrey Betanov reported, in the republic the package of investment laws designed to raise money and technologies from abroad was started a year ago to create jobs and to popularize Pridnestrovie. Implementation of these points is carried out through the creation of favourable business climate, minimization of investment risks and provision of guarantees to investors from the state.
«In the investment contract, it is registered that the businessman in case of law changes had the right to choose for himself its optimum edition: the changed option or operating earlier. Besides, there is a number of tax preferences depending on the volume of the enclosed finance, also there are provided tools of not the collection of customs duty for import of freights. There is an opportunity to receive the state subsidies – to 10% of the invested means sum», - Andrey Betanov noted.
He paid attention that interaction of the profile structure and businessmen was provided in the «one window» mode and the Investment Agency was ready to provide consultations on all arising questions as soon as possible.
«If there are intentions on the project, the investor submit the application then together we prepare the working investment program, further we submit it to the investment council. If the project is approved, it goes to the Government. Then the investment contract between the Prime Minister and the investor with the indication of all necessary criteria and preferences is concluded», – the head of the profile structure explained.
One more important feature is that the investor is granted the right to specify desirable arbitration instance for disputes settlement.
The first Italian investor in Pridnestrovie
Roberto Guardigli is the first Italian who decided to invest in Pridnestrovian business. 12 years ago he and two partners created in the Dubossary district an agricultural farm «Lender Agroprim». Today the enterprise processes 9.3 hectares and generally specializes in the cultivation of wheat, sunflower, flax, barley, corn and bean.
«We began with investments about €5 million from which the most part of means went for the purchase of the necessary equipment in Europe. Subsequently, we also invested €1 million in irrigation. In 2017 the first stage of an elevator was put into operation, and soon we will finish its construction», - the farmer told.
Guardigli does not intend to stop on this. In plans to begin production of other crops: first potatoes, then tobacco.
«Now the situation is stable. We work quietly», - Roberto Guardigli addressed the Italian business mission and assured the fellow countrymen that the authorities of Pridnestrovie are always open for businessmen of the republic.
Guardigli's presentation attracted the keen interest of Italian investors. Right there it appeared a lot of questions concerning specifics of work of the enterprise, business conditions. The dialogue of businessmen was in Italian so it was a feeling that the meeting took place somewhere in Rome, but not in Tiraspol.
«Practical questions always show live interest and understanding of the business process. It means that intentions are quite serious and the result can be expected», - the director of the Investment Agency on investments Andrey Betanov noted following the results of a meeting.
According to him, approximately in a month after it will be clear what directions can be demanded among the Italian investors and in which spheres they want to invest. Then it will be possible to start the development of investment projects.
