ON APRIL 25, JCC WILL VISIT PEACEKEEPING POSTS IN THE SOUTHERN AREA OF THE SECURITY ZONE

Planned activities are held to assess readiness for service in the spring and summer period

Tiraspol, April, 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Joint Control Commission agreed on the date of the planned peacekeeping posts` detour. On April 25, representatives of the governing body of the peacekeeping operation will visit IS facilities located in the southern section of the Security Zone.

It should be reminded that the inspection of peacekeeping posts is carried out 2 times a year - in spring and autumn. Members of the JCC give an assessment of the units` combat effectiveness, as well as the readiness of the facilities for service.

Also today, there was heard and noted a report on the situation in the Security Zone.

The Moldovan side touched upon the problem of “emissions” at the Moldovan Metallurgical Plant, which was fabricated in the media.

“The Moldovan delegation tried to include on the agenda the issue of the so-called “radiation incident ”. They believe that the JCC should engage in this work. The Pridnestrovian delegation, based on the tasks set by the peacekeeping operation, refused to include this issue on the agenda, because it does not consider this to be our competence,” the representative of the Pridnestrovian delegation to the JCC Vasily Vakarchuk said.

We recall that the situation at the enterprise has been studied by the specialists who established that the background radiation wasn`t found to be exceeded.
