MOLDOVAN PARTY BLOCKED THE ACCEPTANCE OF JMC REPORTS AGAIN

Bendery, March, 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At the meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), the delegation of the Republic of Moldova once again raised the issue of the Pridnestrovian border posts operation in the Security Zone. Representatives of Tiraspol, in turn, stressed that those posts fulfilled exclusively law enforcement function and had been there since 1992.

“This is not only our opinion, there is, for example, the conclusion of the OSCE mission that the border component fulfill law enforcement functions and today is at the forefront of the fight against offenses. For example, quite recently, the border guards seized a large amount of drugs that the offender wanted to smuggle out of the Republic of Moldova,” the co-chair of the JCC of Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov emphasized.

According to him, this position of the Moldovan party, as well as blocking the signing of JMC reports, causes misunderstanding and wariness.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to visit law enforcement posts and to hear information from law enforcement officers.

Once again, the issue of replacing the trailer at the 9th peacekeeping post was raised. To do that, the Moldovan party sets a number of conditions, in particular, to include it in its area of responsibility.

“Why should we pass it to the Moldovan party, when initially all issues related to the functioning of this post were carried out by the Pridnestrovian side? And since there is a certain parity in this part,” Oleg Belyakov summarized.
