Bendery, February, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Within the framework of the Wide Maslenitsa national festival, open contests were announced in Bendery: “Maslenitsa Pancakes - 2019”, “Samovar Samovarych” and “Beautiful Matryoshka”.
Detailed information about the conditions of the city competitions is available on Bendery official website. Applications for participation in the pancake contest are accepted until March 3, in the other two ones - until March 5.
The culinary competition will be held in two stages and in three nominations: “Original pancake recipe”, “Original pancake recipe with stuffing” and “Fancy pancake dish presentation”.
“For the first two, an application with recipes should be sent to the Department of Culture e-mail or directly to the department itself. The task of the commission is to determine 10 finalists, five in each nomination. Then, the Department of Nutrition will produce pancakes, and the winner will be determined by the open vote on Maslenitsa day, March 10. As for the nomination “Fancy pancake dish presentation”, photos must be presented at the first stage. They can also be forwarded to the Department of Culture or sent by e-mail. On the second stage the participants themselves bring their products to the event on March 10. Here, the winner will also be determined by open voting” - Vyacheslav Dolgodvorov, acting Head of the Department of Culture said.
Everyone can take part in the competition, regardless of their place of residence and age. The most important thing is that the recipes are interesting, unusual and could please the Pridnestrovians.
Two more open city contests are timed to the Wide Maslenitsa.
“They are held in the system of general, additional and pre-school education, but everyone can also take part in them. These are arts and crafts competitions for the best Matryoshka dolls and samovars manufacturing” - Vyacheslav Dolgodvorov explained.
March 10 in the Alexander Nevsky ramparts park cultural events will be started. In total, between March and November, 25 different festivals will be held there.
