PRIDNESTROVIE BECAME A PART OF RUSSIA ON JANUARY 9, 1792

По условиям Ясского мира Турция уступила России территории между Южным Бугом и Днестром, в том числе и южную часть Приднестровья до реки Ягорлык

Under the terms of the Treaty of Jassy Turkey conceded to Russia territories between the Southern Bug and the Dniester including the southern part of Pridnestrovie to the Yagorlyk River

January 9, 1792 (or December 29, 1791) is a turning point in the history of Pridnestrovie: on the place of the former Tatar Kocevje, there is a multinational community which became a basis of the Pridnestrovian identity. The Dniester became the western border of the Russian Empire as a result of the Russo-Turkish war of 1787-91. About its events, we wrote an article «225 years to the Treaty of Jassy – 225 years Pridnestrovie as a part of Russia».

The echo of «the Greek project» can be heard today in names of cities: Tiraspol, Grigoriopole. Also as well as Ovidiopol with Odissos (Odessa), they appeared right after the accession of the Ochakov earth, symbolizing revival of antique traditions and the final statement of Russia on the Dniester and in Black Sea Coast.
