Tiraspol, October 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The head of the Tirotex Andrey Mezhinsky has visited the International Cotton Advisory Committee in Tashkent, it is reported on the website of the enterprise. Also, the 76th plenary session on "Cotton in the era of globalization and technological progress" has been held on the platform of the Uzbekistan capital.
This year, the event has been synchronized with the beginning of the XIII International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair, in which the head of the Pridnestrovian textile company participates permanently and annually. 1500 delegates from 50 countries have taken part in it this time.
"Due to the fact that cotton is basic raw materials for production of the main textile industry leader of Pridnestrovie, participation of its CEO in the work of the ICAC, certainly, has immediate and strategic meaning for an entire industry in the republic in general," it is emphasized on the website of the Pridnestrovian industrial giant.
The CEO of the Tirotex Andrey Mezhinsky notes that the biggest part of the prime cost of products is cotton.
"Slightest fluctuations in the price of cotton, problems of cotton halo quality, supply volumes or difficulties in logistics – all this is very important for strategic development of our enterprise and for near-term projection of its further financial and economic activity," Andrey Mezhinsky notes.
The CEO emphasizes that 35% of full finished-product output cost is the cost of cotton.
