Pridnestrovian customs officers take part in international expo Customs Service 2017

The Pridnestrovian delegation became acquainted with modern trends in customs development

Tiraspol, 30 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The delegation of the State Customs Committee (SCC) has returned from an official trip to Moscow, where they took part in the 18th International Exhibition Customs Service-2017 at the invitation of Russian colleagues. The event was traditionally dated to Russian Customs Officer's Day. This year its slogan was "Customs: Simplicity and Convenience, Efficiency and Security."

Exhibition guests came from both CIS and foreign states, including countries of the EAEC, China, Turkey, Slovakia, Estonia, South Africa, etc.

"The main task of customs authorities is to create convenient conditions for foreign trade participants, reduce the administrative burden and the number of procedures that our entrepreneurs have to pass when carrying out export and import transactions," said Russia's finance minister, Anton Siluanov.

Similar tasks are faced today by the Pridnestrovian customs authorities. The SCC has been involved this year in developing "roadmaps" to improve the domestic business environment, as well as to support access to foreign markets and export of Pridnestrovian goods.

The Pridnestrovian delegation became acquainted with modern trends in customs development. The SCC delegates also participated in a plenary meeting "Customs for Business and State". The key topics of dialogue between the Russian authorities and the business community were the issues of customs development strategy.

The culmination of the event was the signing of a declaration to support the Charter of Bona Fide Foreign Trade Participants. Its participants, among which are Russia's leading business elites, pledged to refrain from submitting false data on declared goods to the customs authorities. They advocate an intolerant attitude towards those seeking to gain a competitive advantage through evasion of customs payments and other unscrupulous actions.

"We are in the process of harmonizing our legislation with the Russian one, so it was very important for us to participate in this exhibition.  We were interested in the development of the risk management and electronic declaration systems, as they work in the Russian Federation. We believe there are a lot of useful things that can be implemented in our country. I'm glad that our Russian partners are ready to talk to us, discuss and help us," said the head of the SCC, Vitaly Nyagu.

Advanced experience gained at the Moscow exhibition will be analysed and put into practice, the SCC notes.
