Black Sea Cossacks consider changes in peacekeeping format unacceptable

The Council of Atamans of the Black Sea Cossack Host strongly protests the destructive actions of the Moldovan leadership aimed at destabilising the situation around the PMR and calls for the retention of the existing peacekeeping format in the region

Tiraspol, 6 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. After considering and discussing the situation around the PMR and effectively assessing the aggressive actions of the Moldovan leadership, the Council of Atamans of the Black Sea Cossack Host (BSCH) expresses its deep concern and dismay at the new escalation of tension, involving persistent attempts to make Russia pull out its peacekeepers and military contingent from the region, which will inevitably lead to  the unfreezing of the conflict and a real threat of war. This is stated in the statement released by the BSCH.

The Cossacks express their utmost concern about Moldova's attempts to change the existing peacekeeping format and create a basis for destabilisation in the region with the support of the US, European Union and Nato, for which purpose political, economic and information pressure on Russia and the PMR is exerted."

The Council of Atamans of the Black Sea Cossack Host strongly protests the destructive actions of the Moldovan leadership aimed at destabilising the situation around the PMR and calls for the retention of the existing peacekeeping format in the region.

"We consider changes in the format of the peacekeeping operation and the withdrawal of Russian troops and peacekeepers from Pridnestrovie to be unacceptable," the Cossacks note.

"The Black Sea Cossack Host is ready to defend the independence of the PMR and the peace of the Pridnestrovian people by all available means and methods. As a reliable defender of the statehood of Pridnestrovie, the Black Sea Cossacks highly appreciate the efforts of the Pridnestrovian president, Vadim N. Krasnoselsky, to resolve the current situation, fully support his initiative on the PMR's associative membership in the UN and are ready to lend its full support in defending Pridnestrovie," the statement says.
