Tiraspol, 26 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has found out which domestic goods Pridnestroviaты prefer to buy. The survey was ordered by the organisers of the Buy Pridnestrovian Goods! project 500 residents from across the country spoke about their preferences. The survey does not focus on specific companies but rather on groups of products. The respondents were asked not only what they buy, but also where and how, as well as how they learn about these or other goods.

«We have learnt with some regret that our residents prefer imported clothing, footwear and furniture over domestic products. At the same time, over 60% of the respondents try to buy Pridnestrovian vegetables, fruit and fresh meat," said the head of the foreign relations department of the CCI, Vladimir Isayev.

The survey has shown that the inhabitants of the republic are not familiar with all local goods. To improve the situation, the CCI recommends manufacturers to promote them more actively.

The majority of respondents — 81% — advised them to revise prices and the quality of their goods: to lower the former and improve the latter. And 5% recommended them to mark domestic goods on the shelves to make them more recognisable.

Peculiar are the assessments of Pridnestrovians as for the price-quality ratio. They vary depending on the product group.

«As for the quality, from 30% to 30% of the respondents said that our flour, vegetables and fruit are of high quality, and the rest of the goods comes within the category 'above average quality'. The quality of clothing and sausages was evaluated as average. As for prices, more than half of respondents think that our prices are affordable — neither low nor high. The majority consider the price for furniture, meat and sausages to be high," said Isayev, noting that to increase sales, the manufacturers should consider both parameters.

The assessment of domestic goods is also part of the survey. Among the advantages of Pridnestrovian goods are, according to the respondents, availability, freshness, taste and environmental qualities.

As for the promotion channels, the survey has shown the leadership of the Internet. With TV and radio left behind, it is through the World Wide Web that most of the respondents learn about domestic products.

The CCI plans to carry out another survey of consumer preferences of Pridnestrovians next year to assess if the project has affected them.
