Victory Day in Tiraspol will be rich in festive events

Tiraspol, 25 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The State Agency for Culture and Historical Heritage of the PMR is continuing work to organise the celebration of Victory Day, the agency's press service reports.

The organisation committee, which is composed of agency members, representatives of the presidential administration, government office, Ministry of Education, State Agency for Communication, Tiraspol State Administration, Palace of Republic, First Pridnestrovian TV channel, is now arranging all events and concert venues, the head of the agency, Mariya Kyrmyz, said.

According to her, the republican action St George's ribbon will take place from 3 to 9 May.

On 6 May the square near the Tiraspol United Museum will host the traditional meeting of combat friends. A similar meeting will be held for war veterans in the Kirovsky residential area.

A festive concert, Victory Creators, will take place in the Palace of Republic. The possibility of inviting veterans from the entire Pridnestrovie is being explored.

The Victory Day programme includes rallies, flower-laying ceremonies at glory memorials, a military parade, an Immortal Regiment march. The latter will start after the final song of the military parade, which will be performed by choirs.

The military parade, involving units of the Ministry of Defence and OGRF will start on 9 May at 10:00 in Suvorov Square. One hour before, the traditional remembrance ceremony will take place followed by laying flowers at the Glory Memorial. All these events will be shown live on First Pridnestrovian.

An exhibition of military hardware will be organised behind Suvorov Square.

Russia's OGRF will feature the re-enactment of a 1945 battle, honouring of war veterans and a concert.

Holiday concerts will be held under the common slogan Victory Remains Young on concert venues across the city.

In the evening, the victory ball Victorious May will take place in the capital's centre. Right after the ball, a concert will be given by the Orchestra of the Ministry of Defence. Holiday fireworks will conclude the day.

The meeting also discussed the holiday appearance of cities and the facades of cultural institutions, as well as other technical issues.
