Russian customs will be able to identify Pridnestrovian goods

Work is currently under way to harmonise the technical requirements for the exchange of information between the authorities of the PMR and Russia about the movement of goods and vehicles across the customs border

Tiraspol, 10 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The priority in cooperation between the customs agencies of Pridnestrovie and Russia is the elimination of barriers and the introduction of preferential conditions for Pridnestrovian goods. This is what the head of the State Customs Committee (SCC), Vitaly Nyagu, said during a meeting of the public advisory council on customs policy on Friday, 10 February.

«Work is currently under way to harmonise the technical requirement for the exchange of information between the authorities of the PMR and Russia about the movement of goods and vehicles across the customs border of Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation," said Nyagu.

Special attention is given to the identification of Pridnestrovian goods in the total flow of exports from Moldova, the head of the SCC explained.

The SCC is continuing to elaborate a roadmap to simplify access to foreign markets for our goods. According to the governmental instruction issued in January, the working group comprises the heads of the Ministry of Economic Development, customs, Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Representatives of the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs and Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Industry and Commerce have also been invited to take part in the work of the group.

Today's meeting of the advisory council was held with the involvement of exporters. According to them, the work carried out by the SCC has already yielded fruit. Customs clearance of goods exported to Russia is relatively fast — taking up to several hours, the exporters say.

The entrepreneurs also raised the issue of importing materials under conditional release, which is still of concern to economic agents. It should be noted that in September 2016 the Ministry of Economic Development approved tariffs on export and import goods for the next two years. Import duties were abolished on 83 product lines. This primarily concerns raw materials for production, which has simplified the procedure for the importation of such products.

Representatives of the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie propose to regulate accountability for imported technological materials so that such raw products were used for its intended purpose rather than being resold abroad.
