Tiraspol, 1 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Shcherba, met the UK ambassador to Moldova, Lucy Joyce. The speaker thanked the British diplomat for her country’s interest in the events taking place in Pridnestrovie and expressed hope that in the future efficient cooperation would be established with the UK embassy.
«We hope for the mutual exchange of information and an open dialogue to discuss any issue of concern for the development of friendship, good-neighbour relations and the execution of those tasks and goals which our state works on and which were delegated to us by our voters during the election," said the speaker.
Alexander Shcherba and Lucy Joyce also discussed the settlement of Moldo-Pridnestrovian relations.
«The ambassador has confirmed that any dialogue is based on the need to share different points of view, hear each other. If the negotiations are conducted, the economy and political situation, and most importantly, the social structure of the PMR and that of our partners' in Moldova will continue to improve," the speaker told journalists following the meeting.
Alexander Shcherba expressed hope in this regard that besides Russia, a guarantor state, Pridnestrovie's stance on this issue would be understood and shared by other foreign countries, including Great Britain.
