Vitaly Ignatyev meets with head of OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan

The sides discussed the prospects of negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova in the context of the forthcoming presidency of the Republic of Austria in OSCE

Tiraspol, December 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovie’s MFA hosted a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan. Within the discussion, there was a detailed exchange of views on the prospects of negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova in the context of the forthcoming presidency of the Republic of Austria in OSCE, the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Ministry's Press Service reports.

The Foreign Minister acknowledged the real lack of positive trend in the dialogue between the two sides parties in the second half of the current year due to the irresponsible treatment of Moldova to the negotiations with Pridnestrovie and to observance of the observance of an agreement agreements.

«The Berlin protocol is an incomplete 'homework' of all participants within the 5+2 negotiations. I consider practical implementation of the clauses enshrined in this document to be a point of honor for the sides and all international partners taking part in the process of the Moldava-Pridnestrovie settlement," Vitaly Ignatyev noted.

At the same time, he emphasized the fact that the existing burning issues in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova go beyond the issues enshrined in the Protocol.

«Actually, there are much more problems, and all of them should be discussed within 'The constant meeting …'," the diplomat added.

In turn, the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan assured Vitaly Ignatyev in endeavor to provide consistency and continuity of work in the negotiation process in the context of the future Austrian presidency in OSCE.

He also told to the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister that the future special representative of the Austrian acting OSCE Chairman-in-Office Wolf Dietrich Heim planned to visit the capital of Pridnestrovie in the middle of January, 2017.

During the dialogue, Vitaly Ignatyev particularly emphasized urgency of the inward cargoes delivery problem in Pridnestrovie by rail in the context of the prospects of the Legal decision «About the Principles of Renewal of Full Freight Railway Communication through the Territory of Pridnestrovie' prolongation.
