President intends to integrate Pridnestrovian economy into Eurasian economic space

Vadim Krasnoselsky thinks it necessary to develop relations with Pridnestrovie with Russian regions

Tiraspol, 21 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The issue of the Pridnestrovian economy integration into the Eurasian economic space was one of the main subjects of Vadim Krasnoselsky's meetings in Moscow. The president told about it at a press conference in Tiraspol today.

"This is very important for us. These are new market outlets. We have made sure it is necessary to develop our relations with Russian region," explained Krasnoselsky.

According to him, Pridnestrovie is counting on Russia's economic assistance but should be economically interesting for Russia. To achieve this, the republic should develop its agro-industrial complex, light industry and industry, as a whole, noted the head of state.

"We are ready to create conditions to make our goods competitive on the Russian market," underscored the president.

The volume of our exports to Russia has remained for a number of years at a fairly low level – 8-8.5%. This is due to the unfavourable pricing environment and restrictions imposed by Russia on Moldova's imports. Russia is, nevertheless, interested in trading with Pridnestrovie, in particular in the area of food products. Russia's vice-premier Dmitry Rogozin said during his visit to Pridnestrovie this summer that for successful work in the Russian market the republic should increase the production of agricultural products and revive its processing industry.
