Tiraspol, 17 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Supreme Council confirmed Vladislav Tidva's appointment as chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank (PRB). On the submission of the new president, the parliament dismissed the previous head of the PRB, Edward Kosovsky.

According to Vladislav Tidva, in the new position he intends, first of all, to take measures to stabilise the exchange market.

«I see my task in carrying out a monetary policy that will ensure price stability both in the exchange and commodity market," said the new chair of the PRB.

According to Vladislav Tidva, the PRB will request Russia to provide financial assistance and will take measures to improve the negative dynamics in the sphere of remittances.

He noted that over the past year because of problems on the local exchange market many Pridnestrovian citizens had preferred to receive remittances not in Pridnestrovie but in the banks of neighbouring countries, first of all, in Moldova, and consequently to spend money there. This led to the PMR having lost a part of its exchange resources. According to Tidva, measures will be taken to improve this situation so that Pridnestrovian citizens could receive their remittances without going abroad.

Also, in the first months of his work Vladislav Tidva intends to make an evaluation of the state of some commercial banks that have received significant state assistance in previous years. According to him, its total volume amounted to 1.250 billion roubles, with some banks having received more funds from the state than from their shareholders.

To evaluate the current situation in this credit institutions, Russia's bank audit experts may be invited.

«The state cannot indefinitely maintain the negligence and sometimes criminal activities of some bankers," noted Vladislav Tidva.

Vladislav Tidva was born on 20 November 1975 in Tiraspol.

In 1992 he finished Tiraspol Secondary School № 18. As a child, he was fond of football.

On leaving school he entered the department of economics at Shevchenko PSU for the specialisation of «economy and management». He began his career while still a student. In 1996 he was hired by JSCB Urbank as an economist of the foreign exchange department. For two decades in the banking system of Pridnestrovie he has worked his way up from an economist to chairman of the board of the largest Pridnestrovian bank — CJSC Agroprombank.

Working in various positions since 2000, he contributed to the bank's growth as a modern, high-tech financial institution.

In 2012, he graduated from the department of economics at St Petersburg State University with a degree in economic theory.

Married, with two children.
