Russia to provide expert assistance to Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, 23 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During a meeting between Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk and Russia's deputy prime minister, V. Putin's special envoy on Pridnestrovie, an agreement was reached to provide expert assistance to the PMR in various spheres of economy and public administration system. Russian experts are expected to arrive in Pridnestrovie in October. Among them are economists, financiers, central bank employees, health care and agricultural specialists. This was announced by President Yevgeny Shevchuk at a press conference at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

«We hope to start the active implementation of these agreements when Russian experts in collaboration with Pridnestrovian colleagues will work out guidelines for making further decisions. We hope it will lessen tension, first of all in the socio-economic sphere," said the president.

The president recalled that Russia was providing assistance to Pridnestrovie in various spheres. A large-scale project on the reconstruction of land reclamation complex has recently been launched.

«The implementation of this project will benefit both the PMR's citizens and the budget. The rest will be in the hands of experts. Pridnestrovian authorities are interested in direct communications and in seeking instruments to minimise the negative impact of external factors," noted Yevgeny Shevchuk.
