Yevgeny Shevchuk: Training of the Armed Forces is a main guarantee of peace and safety

Bendery, June 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A main guarantee of peace and safety of Pridnestrovie is training of own army. It was declared by the Pridnestrovie's President Yevgeny Shevchuk during the communication with the press after the flower-laying ceremony to the Memorial of Memory and Sorrow.

According to the Head of state, in the conditions of the becoming frequent joint exercises of the Moldova's army with NATO units, increasing presence of the North Atlantic Alliance in the territory of the RM, Pridnestrovie has to support own efficient army in order to increase defense capability of the country.

«We have to find time and to pay attention to the training of the Armed forces. It is a main guarantee of peace and safety," the President noted.

At the same time, Yevgeny Shevchuk emphasized a significant role in keeping an existing peacekeeping operation on the Dniester stable.

«It is necessary to do everything possible to keep the peacekeeping operation at the Dniester which has shown its efficiency. Peace is the basis for any state, for citizens' life, and therefore we will keep on conducting foreign policy of the PMR within these priorities," the Head of state told.
