President inspects republican military unit

Tiraspol, June 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Commander-in-chief of the Pridnestrovie's armed forces visited the Second Peacekeeping Battalion located in Dubossary. During the visit to this military unit Yevgeny Shevchuk checked out the conditions of service and living of the military personnel, assessed the infrastructure condition and the combat readiness level of the battalion.

In conversation with the military personnel, the President noted a special role of the peacekeeping battalion in protection of peace in the Security Zone.

"Significance of the peacekeeping operation is inviolable, it is important for each Pridnestrovian because the most valuable thing for a person is peace and life," - the Head of state told. "Peacekeepers feel all complexity of the tasks before them. Serving the Homeland, protecting peace in the Security Zone, you are at the forefront of the existing problems. And foreign policy differences between Tiraspol and Chisinau remain and today".

The President noted that one of the main priorities for the leaders of the republic during the last years were formation and recruitment of the peacekeeping battalion.

"As I've been reported, the peacekeeping battalion was better manned, than four years ago. I have come personally to see it myself," the Commander-in-chief Yevgeny Shevchuk emphasized.
