Tiraspol, 4 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. State support in the sphere of culture and professional art remains a pressing issue.
«Over the past years Pridnestrovian performance companies have proved their professionalism both at home and abroad," said Maria Kyrmyz, the head of the State Agency for Culture, during today's open lecture at Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University.
The topic of her lecture was the «Implementation of contemporary state policy in the sphere of culture in Pridnestrovie».
She recalled that it is Pridnestrovian Institute of Arts that trains personnel in the sphere of culture and art. About 400 students study at the institute, with 100 more attending its Bendery branch.
«This educational facility is a source of manpower for our field. 100% of its graduates were given work last year. At the same time, the problem of qualified personnel in the sphere of culture is still relevant," underscored the agency head, specifying that today 3,310 persons are engaged in the area of culture and arts.
Another issue Maria Kyrmyz focused on during the lecture is the physical depreciation of cultural facilities and their material and technical equipment.
«Nearly half of them are in unsatisfactory state. Some of them lack central heating and water-supply, and require roof mending," said the agency head.
She recalled that the resolution of this problem has been under way since 2014.
«Minor repairs have been done at 30 facilities. In 2015 the Houses of Culture in Khrustovaya, Podoyma, Doibany and Chobruchi villages as well as Rybnitsa's Museum of Military Glory were repaired within the president's programme Prioritet. Last year 50 more cultural facilities were repaired. Today 22 of 23 facilities of further education are in satisfactory state. Besides, the renewal of material and technical basis as well as programme and methodical support at subordinate facilities has been under way," said the head of the cultural agency.
