Tiraspol, 28 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, Pridnestrovian State University has held a teleconference between Great Patriotic War veterans. Comrades-in-arms recalled war roads and took joy in speaking to distant friends. Prior to the meeting, a column of students, university leadership and veterans marched to the monument to the students and teachers of PSU who died during the Great Patriotic War and observed a minute of silence in tribute to fallen warriors.

«We are very glad and happy to get in touch with you, to tell you some good words and recall our past. I am proud of having participated in the defence of Sevastopol in 1941−42. I was wounded three times, two times returned to my division and each time I experienced some difficulties to get back to my regiment," said veteran Nikolay Onufriyev.

Viktor Beda spoke about his seven escapes from Germans. The enemy took young people to Germany, but he, a young guy then, managed to escape even from concentration camps. He found a shelter in Belgorod-Dnestrovsk.

«When the town had been liberated, all young men were conscripted to the army and enrolled in the 73rd Guards Division. I was granted a leave to go home, have rest, acquire new strengths, but I refused to, saying that I had been hiding there with local guys and now we would fight together," Viktor Beda told his brothers in arms.

Partisans, artillerists, infantrymen — all of them are true heroes. And each of them recalls his military road in details. To share recollections is the most valuable thing for veterans, according to organisers.

«We have decided to organise a teleconference with Sevastopol veterans because it is a hero city and many veterans live there who gained a victory in the Great Patriotic War. We have decided to do so. Seems to me, veterans are very happy," noted Alexandra Foksha, a youth movement representative.

A scientific fellow of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Georgy Menyaylo, said that there are plans to organise such conferences with other Russian regions as well.

The Zvezda youth movement will organise a few more events ahead of Victory Day. For example, Victory Canvas on which veterans will leave their wishes to younger generation. Besides, movement activists pay visits to war participants, and on 9 May the Immortal Regiment march will take place under their guidance. The number of persons wishing to participate in it is increasing every day, organisers note.
