Pridnestrovie's food imports have not changed as compared to 2015

The volume of food products imported by legal entities has increased by 4%. At the same time, Pridnestrovie has imported fewer milk and flour products, which, according to the SCC, testifies to the success of an import-substitution strategy

Tiraspol, 12 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the first quarter of 2016 Pridnestrovian legal entities increased the import of food products by 4% as compared to the same period of 2015, the SCC press service reports.

88% of total food import accounts for legal entities, and the rest 12% for individuals.

The SCC press service recalls that today the PMR imports up to 60% of food products. According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2016 food products form 17% of total import. A third of products (30%) comes from Ukraine, 13% are imported from Moldova, and 8% from the Russian Federation.
