Tiraspol, 23 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Supreme Council has considered the bill initiated by the Government today.
In particular, it is expected to add a norm to the current legislation according to which the foreign citizens who move for permanent residence in the PMR are granted pension on condition that they had achieved the retirement age provided by the legislation of their homeland state. Also, the legal requirement of full-time residence in Pridnestrovie for at least 3 years still remains.
«It should be noted that the retirement age of citizens of the neighboring states is above the retirement age established in our republic, so this fact quite often provokes foreign citizens to move for the permanent residence to Pridnestrovie aiming to retire according to the Pridnestrovie's legislation," it is written in the legal background to the document.
According to the representatives of the Government, adoption of the initiative will allow to avoid increase in load of a pension fund due to growth of number of recipients of pension.
At the same time, according to some MPs, adoption of this norm will create additional obstacles to the citizens arriving for the permanent residence to Pridnestrovie.
At the same time, most part of the parliamentarians consider the bill important. The relevant committee has recommended to adopt the initiative in the first reading. The document has been adopted by a majority vote.
