Vitaly Ignatyev: Moldo-Ukrainian border and customs control on the Pridnestrovian border can make a negative impact on participation of Ukraine as a negotiation guarantor

The Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister informed the head of state on the risks caused by implementation of the Moldova's and Ukraine's agreement on organisation of the joint boundary and customs control at Kuchurgan check point

Tiraspol, 29 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of PMR Vitaly Ignatyev. Creation of the Moldo-Ukrainian joint check point in Kuchurgan was one of the main topics raised during the conversation.

«This politically motivated decision was made outside the negotiation process, so it is illegitimate. The position of Pridnestrovie is ignored and isn't considered. We have addressed repeatedly and we continue appealing to the participants of the '5+2' negotiation format in order they gave up restricting the Pridnestrovie's economic potential," the head of foreign policy department noted.

He emphasized that implementation of these plans can make a negative impact on participation of Ukraine as a negotiation guarantor.

«Such actions have nothing to do with the status of a guarantor. For Pridnestrovie, it is a global threat not only to the freedom of movement of the citizens, but also to the normal foreign economic activity of the state. Moldovan side can take any restrictive measures," Vitaly Ignatyev noted.
