President signs law exempting manufacturers from 'tax on losses'

It will take effect on the following day after official publication

Tiraspol, 25 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk has signed a law «On amendments to the law of the PMR 'On corporate tax'", which stipulates that a number of enterprises are not subject to the recalculation of taxable bases following the 2015 results. This is about the exemption from the so-called tax on losses. The amendments apply to the enterprises whose receipts from the sale of produced goods were no less than 70% in 2015.

The amendments also refer to the businesses whose «general receipts from the sale of products, goods, services and works do not cover or are equal to the cost of sales of products, goods, services and works without dividing into activity categories.»

According to the presidential press service, earlier the taxable base of the enterprises whose proceeds did not cover or were equal to the cost of sales was calculated with a 5% profitability ratio.

This measure aims to support enterprises under negative economic circumstances and lower the tax burden for unprofitable enterprises.

The law has been worked out on Yevgeny Shevchuk's initiative given that 131 enterprises were unprofitable in the first quarter of 2015 owing to weak external demand.

This issue was discussed at the government meeting in December 2015, following which it was passed by the Supreme Council in two readings.
