Sergey Gavrilov: 'If Pridnestrovie's enemies force their way to power under specious slogans, the country may face the fate of Libya and Syria'

Tiraspol, 25 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In an interview with a Russian TV channel, a State Duma deputy commented of Pridnestrovie's situation, focusing on the significance of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

«If Pridnestrovie's enemies force their way to power under specious slogans, I'm afraid, the country may face the fate of Libya and Syria. The country will break apart and plunge into carnage and economic crisis. Moreover, I believe all ill-wishers and haters of Greater Russia, Russian world and Pridnestrovie will do their best to avenge the Russian Federation," said the parliamentarian.

The TV report emphasises that pro-Russian forces in Pridnestrovie confront foreign NGOs and western mass media, which advocate the demilitarization of Pridnestrovie. The Russian journalists note that «they are secretly backed by some domestic forces, in particular the influential Sheriff Company».

«By bribing voters and media outlets, and discrediting public authorities, western funds and secret services aim to win a majority in the Supreme Council or to disrupt the elections, thus showing the illegitimacy and inefficiency of the Pridnestrovian authorities. This alliance threatens Pridnestrovie's statehood and Russia's influence in the region," concludes the report author.
