Tiraspol, 23 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's taxation system needs reforming: assignments to the budget should be in direct proportion to acquired income. This is what Blizhny Khutor residents proposed during their meeting with the president.

The president underscored that twice a new tax code draft had submitted to the Supreme Council, but the parliament had not approved it.

«For three years, I and the government have been trying to change the existing taxation system to redistribute a tax burden among legal entities and acquire certain revenues as taxes," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

According to the president, the new tax code draft elaborated by the government has been adapted to meet the standards of both the EU and Russia, chief importers of the Pridnestrovian production. The approval of the code, therefore, would significantly facilitate foreign trade activities.

Yevgeny Shevchuk also mentioned that the draft also provided for a corporate property tax, which would exclude plant capacity stoppages as in this case economic entities would have to pay taxes for assets not in use. According to the president, this would force businessmen to dispose more efficiently of the real assets they possess.

«This will encourage a proprietor to make a more efficient use of his assets for the purpose of economic benefits," said the head of state.
